Citizens record 600-700 Brown Noddies in sea bird survey in Tobago Cays in August 2020
EPIC have started their sea bird survey relying on citizen science due to Covid 19 travel restrictions. In the month of August some 600-700 Brown Noddies were recorded around Jamesby Island in the Tobago Cays Marine Park. Even though we are at the end of the breeding season, the Grenadines remain a vital area for seabirds to find food and safe places to rest, especially for young birds just learning to fly.
The Grenadines hosts two Internationally Important Bird Areas, Battowia and Petit Canouan, as well as three regionally Important Bird Areas, The Pillories, Dove Cay/L’islot off Canouan and Petit Mustique.
